These are some ways in which children can be encouraged and thus which can lead to a healthy self-esteem:
-
HELP THEM EXPRESS THEMSELVES
Children should be from the very beginning helped and supported to express themselves. Even if they make many mistakes, they should not be judged and should be helped and supported to express themselves. This will give them confidence and will boost their self-esteem.
-
MAKE THEM WORK IN TEAMS
It is a good idea to divide children into a team and teach them teamwork and team synergy. This will help them become diplomatic, accommodating, mature and accepting. All these concepts will help make children socially mature and will help build healthy self-esteem in children.
-
GIVE THEM THE LEADERSHIP
Children with leadership capabilities should be given a chance to become team leaders and thus they should be encouraged from the very beginning to lead from the front and lead by example and not by coercion.
-
RESPECT THEM
Children should be respected and they must be made to feel complete and confident. This will boost their self-esteem and make them sure of themselves. If you respect them then they will respect themselves and others and will learn that ‘if you give respect you get respect’.
-
APPRECIATE THEIR TALENTS
All children are unique, all of them have hidden talents, and they should be encouraged to explore their talents so that they become expressive and confident. The more they express the more confidence they will become. This will help them build a healthy self-esteem.
-
ENCOURAGE THEM TO FOLLOW THEIR PASSIONS
Teachers should help children explore their talents and they should be allowed to follow their nature. This way the child’s natural talents will emerge and they will become successful in life. When they are good at something then automatically they feel encouraged and this boosts their self-confidence.
-
DON’T JUDGE-LOVE THEM
Children should be respected, nurtured, love and they should be encouraged and supported, and this helps them build a healthy self-esteem.
Thus, by encouraging children to be themselves and respecting them for what they are children become confident and follow their inclination, which leads to encouragement and a development of a healthy self-image and self-esteem.
